Meadow Brook Writing Project

Teachers Teaching Teachers

I am asking for people to commit to Side by Side ASAP.
The date is May 2nd and it is at MISD.

We are looking for breakout sessions that will be approximately 45 minutes.

If we can get your workshop titles and catchy summaries soon I think we
could expand our horizons.

Also let's look into the SBCEU dealio and try to make that happen.

Hot, HOt, HOT (I don't care how "funky" it is I love this song!)
(<<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owT5LDNoStE">/a>)
HOT HOT HOT IDEAS
for workshop proposals, that come to the tip of my mind:

Acceptable Use/ Information Usage- Misusage- Plagiarism

Writing in the Content Areas

Technology

Digital Storyboarding

Technology

Writing Workshop in the Middle School/High School

Summative and Formative Assessment

Protocols

Memoir Writing

Discussion and Dialogue

Any suggestions??? What are we interested in learning more about???

I will do a session on memoirs and the Teacher as Writer...."Memoir-izing your experiences". Do we need brochures or is it too late for that. Perhaps teachers can just attend sessions of their choice that morning. Can we have a sign up on the MISD website?

Unfortunately, I have to be at commencement that morning, but if you really need another presentation for the afternoon, I could do something on preparing for college writing. You'll probably need more upper El stuff instead, though. I'd try to tap some of the TCs who focus on that age group. What about something on the mystery writer's workshop?

Laura,

The title of my presentation is "Millennial Muses: Creating Animated Poetry." Do you need a short description, too, for the program? Also, would you like me to do something else in regards to the list you posted via email (i.e., confirm, order, etc.).

I will be there! I'll work on a synopsis to send you soon...but it's about Technology and writing in the "real" world.

Hey Laura,
The Urban Sites does not conflict with Side by Side as I thought...Urban Sites in April 24-25. So I can present and am sifting through stuff for a presentation....I like the memoir idea.

Am I doing a plagiarism session? May 2? That means I actually have to start putting things down for 2009? Not ready for that. Not ready . . .

I'll come up with something tech-related & get you a title this afternoon & I'll get a note up on the website to have people mark their calendars.

Do you want to send out a short call for workshop proposals through the MBWP listserv? If you want to work something up, let me know & I'll send it out before & again after the break.
